The Heart of the Cordillera Blanca
Our small piece of paradise is located just up the mountain from the city of Yungay in a community called Comunidad Campesina Unidos Venceremos, which translates to Peasant Community: United We Will Win.
Neighboring the remarkable Huascarán National Park, we’re seated not only in unimaginable landscapes but also a deeply rich history with Lake Keushu Lake and its ruins right in our backyard.
Community Impact
We’re deeply integrated into the community and are committed to its development. Our founder, Charlie Good, is not only a member of the community but also an investor in its people. Since our founding, we’ve donated over $50,000 to community development projects—leading to greater access to electricity, cell phone service, and running water throughout the community.
We also believe in the importance of investing in the next generation. To that end, we’ve sponsored graduation trips and ceremonies for 27 high school graduates to date.
Locally Sourced and Locally Staffed
We source all of our food from a local food market and employ locals as chefs, housekeepers, and drivers to continue reinvesting in the community.
Yanina and Felix are the husband and wife duo responsible for managing the lodge’s day-to-day functions. As our cook, Yanina will be the chef to thank after all of your delicious meals, while Felix is in charge of maintenance around the lodge. They live on-site with their two teenage daughters and all receive free room and board in addition to Yanina and Felix’s salaries.
Socially and Environmentally Conscious
Our objective is to help people explore the Cordillera Blanca without causing unnecessary harm to the environment. In addition to our community initiatives, we’re committed to leaving as little environmental footprint as possible.
